For anyone familiar with how we do things at Candypants, you’ll know we love any excuse to go big with a theme – especially when we hear the words ‘fancy dress’. And let’s face it, so do you guys. 

So when Halloween comes around each year, we know it’s going to be a big one, and we were determined to keep it that way for our 2020 celebrations (as if the year hadn’t been scary enough…)

So in celebration of the creepiest night of the year, for Halloween 2020 we thought we’d put on a spooktacular extravaganza, the likes of which Dubai had never seen before. But this wasn’t going to be your average party with a couple of scary masks thrown in – because as you know, we don’t do things by halves. In fact, why keep it to just one party? Why not make a whole staycation of it? And why host the fun in just one space? Why not take over an entire hotel?

Well, that’s exactly what we did. From early afternoon on Friday 30th October to late into the next day, we transformed the Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel (home to our very own Missippi’s Bar) into Dubai’s first-ever Halloween Hotel. And what a terrifying transformation it was.

We kicked off the creepiness with our Nightmare Brunch on Friday night, where guests were treated to a host of spooktacular DJ mixes and devilishly delicious food and cocktails in our very own Missippi’s Haunted Graveyard. The event was a sell-out success, with over 300 ghouls/guests joining in the fun and partying into the night with us. Guests were also able to check-in to our very own Halloween Hotel and stay the night (if they dared) at the Avani Ibn Battuta after the party ended, where creepy antics and entertainment went on way into the night…

The next day, we scaled back the spookiness a little to put on our Family Halloween Brunch at Missippi’s. Here there was trick or treating for the little ones and an afternoon of entertainment and eating. See, we can be wholesome too! 

As for Halloween 2021? It’s safe to say we’re already planning a fright-fest that’s even bigger, better and more bloodcurdling…
